In autumn 2016, Kate Liszka and her team conducted salvage mapping and excavation at Wadi el-Hudi. They recorded the mining settlement named Site 4, about which virtually nothing was known since its initial discovery in the 1940s. Finds suggest that it may well have been the most important of all the mining settlements at Wadi el-Hudi.
