CMS I is the first published volume of the Corpus of Minoan and Mycenaean Seals. It includes seals and clay sealings housed in the National Museum of Athens, which date from the Neolithic period to the end of the Bronze Age. The volume thus contains pieces from secure contexts on the Greek mainland and islands, such as Mycenae, Vapheio, Pylos, Perati, Thebes, and Sesklo and Melos. In addition, seals of Cretan origin have been included, most of which belonged to the private Mitsotakis collection and whose provenance is unknown.
