Sinkankas: Essentially a compilation of very good, clear photographs of engraved gem replicas whose originals are scattered throughout Europe. The preliminaries include a short treatise on the technical aspects of gem engraving, the materials used, a little about rings, and a good summary history of the art. After the plates are explanations with information on depicted materials, gem subjects, pertinent literature, and the place where preserved.
