Sinkankas: The preliminary matter contains the life and works of Millin, pp. v–xxix, by Bon-Joseph Dacier (1742–1833), the noted French savant, and the preliminary discourse by Jean-Jacques Champollion-Figeac (1778–1867), the noted French linguist and antiquary, whose brother was the celebrated decipherer of Egyptian hieroglyphics. The editor, Jean-Baptiste-Bonaventure de Roquefort (1777–1834), was a noted French philologist and antiquary. The text proper contains Monuments antiques, Pierres gravées, pp. 93–229, and Médailles, the treatise on engraved gems apparently being a faithful copy of the second edition of 1797, but omitting the bibliography.
