The “traceless repair” of Feicui (jadeite jade) is a new type of splicing technology that employs adhesive substances to penetrate the splicing surface under vacuum and high-pressure conditions, achieving a seamless effect in appearance. The term “traceless” refers to the near invisibility of the splicing line to the naked eye. However, conventional gemmological testing and infrared spectroscopy can reveal the repair: strong blue and white fluorescence appears at the splicing interface under ultraviolet irradiation, and epoxy resin absorption peaks are identifiable in the infrared spectrum. According to national standard GB/T 16552-2017 Gems–Nomenclature, such “repaired” Feicui (jadeite jade) jewelry must be classified as assembled jadeite jade.
