Küfner and Agricola’s Pharmacopoliterion is an early pharmaceutical and medical handbook concerned with the preparation and use of medicinal substances. It describes materia medica and compound remedies employed by apothecaries, including substances of mineral as well as vegetable and animal origin, and provides directions for their preparation and therapeutic application. The work reflects sixteenth-century European pharmacy, in which minerals and other natural materials formed part of the pharmacological repertoire.
